Digital Experience
It’s a digital experience, made up of different elements, inspired by the play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” written by Shakespeare.*
The context: between the real and the imaginary
In the play, young adults undergo a psychological transformation after passing through a forest inhabited by magical spirits.
By creating a digital fantasy world, I wanted to create a link between the real and the imaginary. The experience takes the form of several elements: a digital costume, an augmented reality mask and a video that presents a virtual environment to the costume, linking paper and the imaginary world.
Digital costume composition
The creation of a digital costume that transforms and metamorphoses was necessary to create a fantastic virtual digital environment.
The main basis of the composition is inspired by origami techniques, made possible by AI research (see below). I then structured it by composing various digital elements, chosen, drawn and cut out by myself, from images generated by the AI by asking it prompts inspired by the text of the play.

The mask
The choice of augmented reality
Augmented reality as a metaphor for magic dust. In Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. The magic powder, placed by the elf on the eyes of the young people in the forest, transforms their vision of the world.
Spectators can take part in the digital experience and project themselves as fairy-like beings through augmented reality.
Snapchat is an application used by teenagers and young adults, known for its augmented reality filters. This underlines the connection with the spirit of Shakespeare’s play (the main characters in Shakespeare’s play are young and easily blinded by feelings).
Augmented reality builds a link between the physical and the digital, the real and the imaginary.
Common elements that unite the two environments for a Phydigital harmony between the tangible and the virtual.
Mask composition
After a search for imagery around magical plants and environments (see searches at the bottom of the page), several tests on Snapchat software, a composition of several elements builds the mask. You can test it by scanning the Snapchat filter code.

The virtual environment
Video – Metamorphosis
In this video, I imagined fairy-like beings born and transformed from a tree leaf cut out on paper. The leaf at the beginning is linked to the origami costume.
The scenes are created using AI and digital art composition software (Midjourney-Luma-Runway-Photoshop-Ruch).
